Masqtec respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

  • We collect only the information we need to do business with you. This may include:

    ​

    • Contact details submitted through our website contact form: first name, email address, phone number, company name and industry, plus any details you include in your message

    • Order and delivery details: delivery address and contact person, quotes, orders and invoices

    • Correspondence: enquiries sent to us by email or phone

    • Essential website cookies: our website platform (Wix) uses essential cookies to run the site securely. We do not use these to track or profile visitors.

    We do not knowingly collect special personal information (such as health or biometric information) or information about children.

  • We collect personal information directly from you when you complete our website contact form, email or phone us, request a quote or place an order.

  • We use personal information to:

    ​

    • Respond to your enquiry and prepare quotes

    • Process orders and arrange delivery of products

    • Manage invoicing and payments

    • Provide technical and after-sales support

    • Meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations

    We process personal information only where we have a lawful basis to do so: to perform a contract with you, to comply with the law, for our legitimate business interests, or with your consent.

    Providing your information is voluntary. However, if you do not provide the information we need, we may not be able to respond to your enquiry, provide a quote or fulfil an order.

  • We do not currently send marketing emails or newsletters. If this changes, we may use your email address to send you promotional information about our products and services, where you are an existing customer or have given us your consent. Every message will include an option to unsubscribe, and you can opt out at any time.

  • We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where needed, with:

    ​

    • Masqtec staff who process enquiries, quotes and orders

    • Couriers and transport providers, who receive your name, contact number and delivery address to deliver your order

    • Our website and email service providers, who host the systems your information passes through

    • Our accountants and auditors, and authorities such as SARS where the law requires it

    ​

    Everyone we share information with is required to keep it confidential and secure.

  • Some of our service providers, such as our website and email platforms, may store information on servers outside South Africa. Where this happens, we make sure the information is protected by laws or agreements that provide a level of protection substantially similar to POPIA.

  • We take appropriate, reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep personal information secure and to prevent loss, damage or unauthorised access. These include access controls, password protection and secure systems. If we believe your personal information has been compromised, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

  • We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires (for example, financial records are kept for at least five years). After that, it is securely deleted or destroyed.

  • Under POPIA, you have the right to:

    • Ask whether we hold personal information about you, and request access to it

    • Ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or unlawfully obtained

    • Object to the processing of your information, including for direct marketing

    • Withdraw your consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

    • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator
